St. Augustine’s Senior Community Gathers to Celebrate Silver Creek and Raise Money for Alzheimer’s Research Bookmark


Local senior services representatives, medical professionals, Silver Creek senior community residents and guests gathered to enjoy chef-prepared hors d’oeuvres, lively conversation and a silent auction to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association, Central and North Florida Chapter, at Silver Creek’s one-year anniversary celebration on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017.  Photo by Jackie Hird, used with permission.


ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (November 24, 2017) – More than 200 people gathered at Silver Creek senior living community recently to raise money for the Alzheimer's Association in honor of the community’s first anniversary. The funds were raised through a silent auction that featured original artwork, donations from local health and wellness organizations and gifts from local businesses. In total, the event raised more than $1500 for the Association’s Central and North Florida Chapter.

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) joins Congressman Ron DeSantis (R-FL6) as guest speakers at a fundraising dinner for the St Johns County Republican Party Friday, October 6th at the Sawgrass Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. While Democrats and Republicans on the Hill continue to fight President Trump and his agenda, Senator Ted Cruz and Congressman Ron DeSantis stand by our President and are working to promote his agenda.

Learn to Read Bookmark

A percentage (%) of all Barnes & Noble book sales and café purchases at the store that day will be donated to Learn to Read, as will online sales beginning February 4 through February 9 with the use of our voucher number (#12079729).

St. Augustine Mayor Nancy Shaver, dressed as Queen Isabella will hold story time for small and young readers.  The authors of both books will be on-hand for book signings.
